Now, if someone were to tell me that what was about to happen to me on my first day to work, I would laugh at them right in the face and say "Nah... that's just impossible. This stuff is for the movies, man." and then walk away still laughing like a madwoman.
*looks skyward and nods head*
Ahahahahah! Ok, that *...* part was a bit dumb. But, moving on...
The first Monday of work was some kind of mini-disaster. To begin with, the train was late. It was late for about 35 minutes, the mother****ing train! It doesn't take an idiot to guess that by the time the train arrived there would be a stampede like a scene from Ace Ventura.
And that's not all. While waiting for the train, it began to rain and it got heavier by the minute...
-_-" sheeessshhhhhhh!!!
Oh well, train came and we all squeezed into it. Reached Sentral around 5 min past eight and...
*drumrolls*
The Touch n Go counters were ALL spoilt! Dammit! And just when I was thanking God that I was smart enough to get myself a Touch n Go card to make things easier and faster...
In place of the spoilt counters, there was this old man who was holding a machine and poking at it - read: keying in people's card number for them to go through. Of all the people to put, they place an old man there. He took about 10 min per person to poke the damn thing!!!
By then, it was past 8.15am and we were feeling desperate cos we were supposed to reach Shook Lin & Bok by 8.30am!
And oh, by the way, this was the first time that the Touch n Go machines actually broke down. Wonder why it chose me and Naima's first day of work to spoil. Must be our faces.
Neway, while queuing up, Naima and I spied people walking past the old man just like that and a spark went off in our mischievious brains. Why not do the same thing?
So we did. We waltzed past the old man and out of Sentral and reached the monorail station laughing like the world was our oyster.
Ahahahahhaha... Yea. We laughed at our "smartness".
But come monorail station, we were rudely awakened to the fact that we were not that smart after all. You see, since our Touch n Go cards weren't cleared out from Sentral yet, we couldn't go through the monorail station.
*curses!*
So we had to queue up again to buy tickets. By then, we were late like shit and we just couldn't be bothered to make it on time anymore. When we finally reached Raja Chulan, after all that ridiculous hassle, the rain continued to pour and Naima did not bring her umbrella.
*shakes head*
Naima, Naima... when will u ever learn? Tsk tsk...
Despite that, both Naima and I laughed our way to Shook Lin. I mean, in situations like these, you just can't help but laugh and it also helped that we have the company of each other to see the bright side of things.
I would say that our first day was horrible and hell no, I wouldn't wanna repeat that! But it was certainly memorable...
Ahahahahahhahahahaha!!
