Tioman Day 2

Ok. Looks like some of u noticed that my entries on my island trip was stuck at Tioman Day 1. Oh gosh, I can't even slack at my own blog! But no problem, I love re-living my Tioman experience. So here's Day 2.

I'll just be highlighting events on Day 2 instead of going into the itsy-bitsy details. Malas bah...

I love Day 2 the most cos we got to snorkel! Yippee! Before lunch time, our guide took us to another part of the island where they sold duty-free stuff. Read: liquor, chocs and cigarrettes. Oh darn it. No one knew that Tioman was a duty-free place. If we knew, we would've brought a little more money to buy stuff.

Anyone who'd think that we left the shop empty-handed is one big stupido. Who cares if we had barely enough money to eat afterwards? Gimme the liqour, baby!

First stop

Can u spot the mineral water bottle?

Then we went to this place called Marine Bay (correct me if I'm wrong) to have lunch. After that, we walked a bit in the marine museum. Yeah, its a whole museum dedicated to educate idiots about marine life. B-o-r-i-n-g. The only fun part was stumbling upon this fake turtle cos we got to camwhore with it.

Wildberry had become blackberry

We had nothing better to do

When our food was finally digested, we decided to practice snorkelling at this enclosed area; the place was sealed off for snorkelling purposes. There were a lotta fishies and we had a chance to feed them bread. It was kinda freaky cos some of the fishes weren't exactly small and u won't want them to bite u in between the legs. Poor Naima got bitten by the fishes on the hand and Zhen's fish bites were padan muka. He tried to grab them while feeding them.

Did someone fart?

Later, our guide took us to Coral Island to have a real snorkelling experience. The weather wasn't too good at that time, though. The wind and the waves were strong and we had to swim against the waves for one part of the island. Seriously, if u aren't a strong swimmer, u'd hit the rocks, which were covered in barnacles. Despite having a difficult time, it was damn worth it! Oh, the corals and sea-life! I've never seen anything like it. It was so beautiful...

Then at night, our cool guide transformed The Hut into a club! Woohoo! The Hut was so romantic-looking with its yellow lights accentuating the deep brown colour of the wood. Have u ever tried dancing to the sound of good music with the sea breeze in ur hair and a great view of the beach with its waters reflecting the light of the full moon? It was unforgettable. Plus, we had Maria playing bartender and mixing yummylicious cocktails for us. What a blast!

Nope, we ain't drunk

One thing about the beach was that, at night, the tide goes down really, really low. That's why our guide took us crab hunting around midnight so that we won't drown looking for crabs. But before crab hunting, we walked along the beach; it was the stretch where we were not able to explore during daytime cos the tide was too high. Our guide brought us to the four historical rocks of Tioman; Batu Depa, Batu Berkahwin, Batu Kambing and uhhh... Batu something. He also brought us to his favourite rock which we christened Batu Chill. Imagine sitting atop a huge rock with nothing but moonlight bathing the entire landscape. I can't even begin to describe what an experience it was. It was simply ethereal.

Setting out for our night-time adventure

Batu Berkahwin - legend has it that anyone who wants to get married should come and pray here, and ur wish shall be fulfilled!

After that, we had crabs for supper! Fresh from the seabed! Apparently, we could eat the shells as well but it tasted a bit weird compared to the average soft-shell crab. The shells were crunchier and harder. Not for old people to eat.

Supper!

Ahhh, nothing better than a plate of mini crabs and a cup of hot milo to put u to sleep. And that was Day 2.
